UPS F.950

FUEL OIL TREATMENT

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
UPS F. 950 is a superior combustion improve and corrosion inhibitor for heavy fuel oils and residual fuels. The use of UPS F. 950 brings about reduction in slag’s and vanadium / sulfur related problems, and reduction in slag’s and other deposits, especially on superheated  tubes,  and other high heat transfer areas, within the combustion chamber. The ability of UPS F. 950 to raise the vanadium / sodium eutectic point, reduces and modifies deposit, making them more friable. UPS F. 950 reduces the formation of sulfur trioxide, neutralizes sulfuric acid and lowers the acid dew point, resulting in better control of cold end corrosion problems. UPS F. 950 efficiently reduces particulate emissions at low excess air levels.

USAGE
The UPS F. 950 should be added to the bulk fuel storage, ideally during the filling operation, typically at a level of 0.75 liter per ton for residual fuel oils.  A program for the use of UPS F. 950 should be instituted, based on the vanadium / nickel and sulfur levels in the fuels oils. If Va / Ni levels are over 50 ppm, or s levels are over 0.25 %, then the  above treatment levels should be doubled. If the Va / Ni levels are over 100 – 150 ppm, or the s levels is over 1 % the dose rate should be increased still further.

BENEFITS
By better control and reduction of vanadium based fireside deposits and clinkers, and by direct reduction of sulfur corrosion problems, UPS F. 950 improves the coal combustion characteristic, the level of fuel burn – out and control of corrosion. The benefit of using UPS F. 950 is that it reduces both energy operating both energy operating costs and associated capital equipment and maintenance costs.
